Thanks for all of your help so far... It has been a crazy week with my truck. I found out that my wiper motor burned out because of a bad switch. The previous owner used a single speed toggle switch.

Meanwile I have been scouring the internet looking for an original wiper switch as well as a heater switch so that I can get all my wiring back into good shape.

Does anyone know the part number for the 1959 electric wiper switch. I was hoping that GM used the same switch on other vehicles and that I could find the switch using a broader search.

As far as the heat switch goes. My truck does not have the deluxe heater. I have seen in various locations a switch that has a knob shaped much like the choke, throttle, headlights, and wiper switches. Does anyone know if this is the only switch that GM used (anyone know the oem part number) The heater switch that our sponser sells is advertised as original... but it is not shaped like the other knobs. My truck had a switch with a light bulb behind the knob. The switch looked almost Identical to the one that our sponsor sells as an original switch. In summary my knob broke and I am left to choose another switch. Does anyone know what these trucks were originally sent out with? I would like to put my truck back to original if possible.

    Thanks you all.

    Nice fleetside!

I have a 59 fleetside also, the wiper motor was messed up in mine as well when I got it. The switches are hard to come by, but keep looking you will find one. The part #1998657. Chevrolet also used the same wiper motor in there 58 cars. The heater switch that CP sells would work temporarly till you find an original. The original heater knob looks like the other knobs but has "Heat" with an arrow. Chris

    Switches Continued

My wiper switch has arrived. I am still on the search for an oem heater switch for the non deluxe heater. Does anyone have any insights on a part number. I can't seem to find one. If anyone knows any other chevy cars with the same switch or a part number I could expand my search. Again, thanks a ton for all of your help.

    Derek
