    Congratulations!!!

Married AND a new job?! No stress there!

Sounds like a good place for a honeymoon, too!

(I only hope she likes old trucks~ some women can get upset when their husband looks more at the curves of his truck instead of his wife...)

    Anyway~ WELCOME BACK!

    Pictures please...

thanks guys! yeah,we'll see about driving it. i worry about old bearings, bad brakes, poor oilers on the rockerarms, things like that... i guess i would need some time and few bucks to put into it before i'd trust it on the highway for eight hours (or probably more:rolleyes:).

    They're tougher than you think ! :p

Rocker arms are fixed by hot oil changes , they can be incredibly wobbly and still work just fine .

The rest is all basic srvice stuff , don't overthink this, just begin servicing pretty much everything on the entire truck and all will be well .

    Hi Jon

Hi Jon. I'm in the Phoenix area..been here about 29 years total (was in SC for about 3 years). I like the vehicle illustrations on your site.

My '51 5 window does not care much for the 120 degree summers...while it runs ok in the heat, it gets hot and really stinks (think its the old grease, oil and other matter that I have not cleaned off the frame yet). I have to open the side vent windows all the way to get enough air flowing in the cab. I do drive it on errands some but when I park it, am afraid to roll up the windows and lock it....the heat will probably pop the windows.

you "g men" are so proud... yah, i'm thinking about making the trip... guess it all depends on whether i can scrounge a trailer or not. and thanks for the confidence boost nate, sometimes i worry too much.

penniwinkle - queen creek?! i just moved out there - san tan valley - bought a house in ironwood crossing (ironwood & ocotillo). we'll have to meet up some time! i'll help you clean that frame up!

Yes, I live in San Tan Valley too. I have a son that has a house just east of Ironwood and Chandler Heights Rd (South of Ocotillo). I'm further south in San Tan Heights, near Hunt Hwy and Gary Road.

    Thanks for the offer.
