Hi! My name is Jimmy and I live in Sweden, I just bought a C10 shortbed 1964, registrated as a 63? strange?. I bought the C10 in New York in october and imported it to Sweden. I have a problem with the inspections here, the engine is a SB with a B&M blower, to get it thru the inspections I need to know the weight of the car? How much is the total weight of a C10 1964 shortbed? ( think its 2 different weights, dont know the names in english, the total and "the other weight") Thanks Jimmy P:S will post pictures later.
It should be about 4900 to 5123.00 .lbs. Depending on the front suspension and bed material. did they replace the wood and add steel? Also remmeber these trucks were equiped with cast iron transmissions. replaceing it with a lighter automatic transmission makes difference awa as aluminum heads/intakes. When in doubt take it to a local weigh station. Here in the states we have weigh stations at transfer truck check points and recycling centers. My 2006 f-150 weighed in at about 5300 .lbs. I would say my 60 Apache long bed is about 600 lbs less in weight.
That seems awful high [4900-5100] lbs. But digging though my shop manual I can't find the correct number for you [weight]. Maybe someone else will chime in with help. Bob
there is the empty and loaded wieght. gross vehicle weight [gvw] or curb weight is how much it is empty, should be around 3400-3600lbs gross vehicle weight rating [gvwr] or cargo, is how much it can weigh fully loaded, 5000-6500 depending on how it was built.
