I would appreciate your help if you can. I am working on rewiring a '63 C10 short-wide w/factory gauges that a previous owner had swapped the 6 w/gen for a v8 w/alt. The conversion was slip-shod, incomplete and unreliable. Because of the wire size to the ammeter I figure that it must be a shunt-type, but I can't find the shunt. If anyone knows how I can use the factory ammeter with an alternator please tell me how or show me how or point me in the right direction. TIA.
