Does anyone know if the Rear cross sill is painted the color of the truck body or is it chassis black?

I seem to recall that mine was rust colored when I dismantled it.

Greg, the bed crossmembers, the ones under the bed boards, weren't painted at all but the rear sill, the one with the step in it for the ends of the boards to sit on, is painted body color. I paint the under bed members with a rust resistant paint, like POR 15, because I have seen numerous rusted ones, especially the front one.

    Thanks everyone.

I just bought a repop and it was such a nice glossy black, I was just wondering.

I guess I have to rough it up, prime, paint and clear coat it.

You could keep it like a REAL truck and dip it in salty water then it'll look like it's supposed to on a farm truck .
