I need to replace my angle strips, i know how to get them off. Can I just butt the new ones to the side panels and ratchet them down to the bed wood? Would that be sufficiant..Or do i have to spot weld the new ones to the side panels? gafcob2002@q.com

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I am going to raise the bed in my truck up about an inch...basically the bed wood will now be above the mounting lip, so I was planning on modifying a set (or two) of angle strips from a step side for the mount on top, but I was not planning on welding the strips to the bed sides.

I followed the Mar-K procedure and bolted the new angle strips in. They recommend a bolt to the bedside every 6 inches, but I bolted them every 4 1/2 inches as that's where the spot welds were. Came out nice and sturdy.

new angle strips will come with screws and nuts. You can also tack weld but the heat may make the metal warp.Golden state pickup parts.com can solve your problem. Hondoe
