Hi folks. I have a clean '72 2-seat burb and wish to convert to a split middle/3rd seat set-up. Does anyone have interesting ideas and/or parts that will work for this?
    Thanks in advance...

use the seats from an '80s' burb...very similar (you could retrofit the original upholstery). the armrests on the third seat are nearly identical with the same ash trays, the supports are just more simplistic to aid in quick removal/installation. you'd need to cut the clips out of the donor truck and cut holes in your burb and mount them down real solid.....good thing its a wood floor that is easy to replace.

as for the middle seat.....only real problem is mounting the supports on the walls as there is an open cavity with a panel instead of sheetmetal. maybe you could rig up a rigid plate that hides behind the panel and the support would overlap onto the panel. on the donor truck, you have to open the door to flip the top down because it would hit the arm rest....but the 67-72 burb doesn't have door mounted arm rests, so you'd just have to reach around to get to the driver side release levers. other than that, it would be simply a matter of filling some holes and drilling a bunch of new ones.
