Hi everyone, new poster here. I have a 1964 chevy C-10 2wd pickup that my son and I are working on. I am wondering if someone can tell me what the original color of the engine was painted? It is the inline 6 cylinder. I would appreciate any help.

That's my motor. It is a 250 in a 66. It is the original motor rebuilt. It is the closest color I could find to the original which I determined by scraping off the grease from the pan. The 250 just being offered in the trucks in the 66 year was a diferent color than the 230's leading up to it. I confirmed that thru a former GM engineer who was involved in the development of the 250.

I have found Detroit Diesel green to be very close.
