Another AD is getting close to the door. It's a 54 with a one piece power tilt front end, MII, P/S, P/B, A/C, recessed power antenna, 200R4 behind a stock but purtied up 350, flames, etc., etc. Pretty much standard fare except the tail gate is a bit different. Turned upside down and backward so there is room for a louvered panel with a recessed license/light. Owner doesn't want the chevy script covered up. A nice touch is the step in the rear bed side/stake pocket that allows the altered gate to fit flush. Engine and trans are supposed to be here this week. Does anyone know of after market gauges and gauge panel for the 54/55.1. Would like a quad gauge but everyone wants to sell a 47-53 set with a filler ring to fill the larger 54 hole. I might have to get off my dead butt and make a gauge panel to fit. Also the 37 car hauler for the 37 business coupe is getting paint and glass this week. I'll sure be glad to get that l-o-n-g sucker out of the way.
You never cease to amaze me! I've run out of adjectives to describe your work! Can't wait to see the '37 car hauler! I'm with Nate on the color! Reminds me of the '48 coupe I had (Sport Beige w/ swift red pinstripes!) I'm curious? Have you kept up with the number of projects that have gone thru your shop over the the years? I'd love to sit down and look at everyone from start to finish! You are truly a craftsman! Ken
Another FINE truck, Evan! Okay, so it's been a few days. How 'bout those "finished" pictures? I can't wait to see the flames!!!!
Truck Colors When I was young enough to ride the sideboards there was a old man who had an AD that color with brown fenders, bumper guard, spotlights and a sun visor. He was kin but I did not inherit it. I bet he had a surry with fringe on the top before that.
quad gauges Evan I used TPI TECH quad gauges in my 55.1. I'm like you ,thought that the billet adapters looked like s**t. I bought a set of new stainless replacement trim rings, made a spacer out of polished aluminum and used the original gauge cans to mount it all in. I cut the back out of the cans and spot welded some clips insideto hold it together. The gauges are recessed in the original style trim rings and look great. Hope this helps.
