Has anyone out there used a 10 bolt rear end on a 60-66 fleetside? From what ive researched, they are slightly wider than my 12 bolt 1966 rear..currently i'm running a 8 x 10 rear wheel with 275 60-15 tire and i have plenty of clearance under the fender..i've found one thats 3.42 posi for dirt cheap but not sure if i want to do away with my old 12 bolt...any thoughts or comments would be appreciated..:)

It would probably hold together if your not hard on it, any 66 to 71 is the same length, they got 1 inch wider in 72 I believe, so there are a lot out there...

just depends on how much power you plan on putting to the ground.

is a govloc not a posi and its a turd in box. that 383 is going to chew that axle up like mashed potato's in a croc pond.

the swap it self is pretty simple, get a conversion ujoint and a peair of aftermarket axle perchs and you are good to go.

    but i wouldnt bother.
