Instead of filling those old hub caps with nuts and bolts I decided to make air cleaners out of them.

Ahhh...very cool! they resemble the style/look of the tops of the old oil bath air cleaners.

That engine is as beautiful as the truck it's in. While your hubcaps are earning a living, mine just lounge around serving as garage art.

Thanks Marke, I've built a lot of trucks through The years but I've been on a mission with this one to see how cheep I could build it. My "61" was built With a bunch of parts from different trucks and with no expensive kits. It still has the torsion bar suspension but with power disk brakes , power steering and a auto trans. with a late model rear end.:)

Thanks Leyland, I wanted my "61" to look like one that someone had fixed up along time ago. I had bought a mid 70's Chevy truck for 400.00 and striped it. The rear end came from that truck as well as the disk brakes, power steering, power brakes, upper a arms, spindles, motor mounts, trans cross member, trans, all the brake lines and all the little things like special clips and hardware. Then I sold what I had left and got my money back.
