    I was at an hot rod swap meet in Denver CO today, and I found a Carter YF carb. It's got a 2000 number on it, not the 900 numbers I here about. The linkage looks right, it looks like it was just rebuilt, it was in a box saying it was, the throttle shaft has no wear on it. Bad part he wants $130.00 for it. It has been blasted so it doesn't have the gold anodized look to it. Good deal or not? Are jets avalible for these still or something I can use?

    Ron ;

    I'd say grab it if it's really rebuilt and has a tight throttle shaft as you'll be able to re-sell it easily if it's the wrong one or something you don't like .

    You'll find the jets are prolly right on spec. as most engines they were used on , had similar needs & specs . try it and see if you don't like it , they're a big improvement over the Rochester 'B' series carbys (says the guy who runs Rochester series 'B's on his '49)
