Anyone else notice our grand master has been absent from these pages? Did I miss something that said he'd be off the hook for a while? I hope all's well~
Nate absence ? Nate Hope everything is well? Give us a sign how things are. People are noticing your longtime absens and wonder how you are ? Friendly regards Martinius.
! Fired ! ..That bum All he ever did was want to work on and talk about , old cars , trucks and motocycles ~ what a goof I'm here , I had a few days off and my computer access @ work has been severely curtailed and the PIA Foster child who's causing so much trouble @ home won't stop screwing with the Wi-Fi so I have to leave the 'puter off most of the time .
Welcome back! Okay~ so I worry a bit about you when I don't see you on here. Why is that~ oh, yeah~ item three in your list of things you like to do... Just glad you hadn't decided to field test any new style of riding that two wheeler of yours. So, since the 'puter has been limited at work and your hands are full at home, if you're not on here we all know why. Good.
' Item Three ' I don't see any list of items.... elucidate me please Paulie . FWIW , if I were to try any faster / funner riding techniques , I'd be dead I'm keen to try riding again , for now I'll have to amuse myself thusly : http://wps.com/AMC/Nates-Metro/index.html This was 01/01/2010 , my and my 1959 Metropolitan Nash giving the world famous Mulholland Highway what for , sadly some goof in a $40,000.00 restored MGB was plodding along in front of me so I was only going 60 . Fun though . I plan to be here , driving my truck and riding my Moto until I'm dead .
Aww, yeah......wheelin the metro! Don't you love doin what ain't supposed to? Bring that thing out to goodguys and I'll race you!
Racing Remember please ,. your truck will run away from my little Metropolitan , the engine winds up tight by 60 MPH or so .
This list... Great "action" photos of you rolling down the hill! Reminds me of when I lived in California. Love those steeeep, winding roads!
Beep, Beep, Nash's rule! Nate, just pull up to Ol' Chebby and say "Hey, buddy, how can I get this car out of second gear?" Beep, beep! And just look at the cargo space on that little puppy!
Oh , YEAH ! THANKYOU for that nice photo As it turns out , my first Metropolitan was an early '59 so it had NO TRUNK LID ! Talk about a marketing blunder ! . My current pair are a '59 FHC (the red one) and a '60 DHC (primer but engine mods etc. FOR SALE ~ CHEAP !) , both have trunk lids as I firmly believe that " Form Follows Function " . The trunk in a Met is actually pretty big once you get into it .
Nate Years ago I had a 58 rag top. Trunk was a b---h with no deck lid. I traded it for a 61. I drove it for about 70,000 miles, till some dumb SOB kid ran me off to KS Turnpike. Yup I totaled it. Wish I could find another, they drive cheap. Jim
Like I Said : I have a 1960 Metropolitan Convertible for sale CHEAP , it has a custom made removable hard top with portholes A La 1955 T-Bird . It's in primer and unrestored but has a lot of upgrades all ready done . Titled in my name , Ca. plates . It needs to go , I'm buying a Mercedes Diesel Station Wagon for my Lady .
In the greensheet/whitesheet link posted below in Salome, Az. is a 1961 Metropolitan, one of a kind 4x4, 5K/obo. Nice looking from the photo. Once on the page scroll down till you see it. http://www.greenandwhitesheet.com/index.php?page=classifieds&classPage=1&ipp=
Sorry,It did that to me also, so in the search type in 4x4. That seems to work I could not get it to copy to the board.
