    Good morning together,
what is the A terminal and B terminal at the generator. At Bosch generators you find B+ and D+ and DF and D-. I've read the wiring installation information but I don't understand it right.

On the stock generator, looking from the front, the terminal on the right is the field, the left is batt.

    Generator Fun

    Good morning Wolf ! .

The 'A' terminal id the armature or D+

The 'B' terminal is the DF

Delco generators are 'A' circuit so to test you bridge the A & B terminals then spin it at idle , never ground the field like on a BOSCH ('B" circuit) Generator !.

Do not EVER rev. the engine over 1,200 RPM's when testing as you'll burn it out .

DO NOT " flash " or " polarize " the generator ! . this is a last ditch " Hail Mary"
thing done only if the generator has reverse polarity or other malady .

Connect it all up and start the engine , rev. slowly and observe the voltsge begin to rise to about 7 VDC at the battery .

If no charge , STOP and let us know , we'll walk you though simple generator testing .

    F Terminal

Is for the Field or exciter curcuit .

Grounding this forces the generator to produce maximum current so ! DO NOT ! Rev. the engine a bunch whilst testing when it appears to not be charging ! if it suddenly begins to charge , you'll burn out the armature before you can blink .
