I have a 1994 1500 with a 305 automatic. The throttle pedal is hard to push off idle but after idle its fine. I have disconnected the cable at the throttle body and the cable moves freely and I don’t feel anything binding in the throttle body. The throttle body return spring is very stiff and as a temporary fix I have installed a spring pulling opposite the return spring to lessen the off effort required to move the shaft, dangerous but effective. Again this only a temporary fix. Has anyone else had this problem?

well the only thing i can think of is if its not in the linkage or the cable or anything in that general area, maybe you should check the pedal and mounting brackets under the dash for anything that may be againt the pedal arm and causes friction when you first push the pedal and then is fine after you get past that point. or maybe it just needs lubed a little bit. anything is worth a try. just a thought. good luck with it
