Hey guys, My '53 truck had some funky bucket seats when I got it. I want the interior to be stock, so I picked up an original bench seat frame, adjusters, and seat cushions for it. I didn't get any (rods? or linkage? or cable?) to attach the drivers side track to the passenger side track for seat adjustment. Might any of you be able to post a picture of the adjustment mechanism(s) for a stock 1953 AD bench seat? thanks for an excellent resource that I read every morning!
Mike, I can help you out with half of your request. The '53 should have a rod that goes from the driver's side adjuster to the passenger side adjuster with a grommet in the middle to hold the rod. Here's a couple of pics of the passenger seat adjuster taken from my '51 donor truck. Sorry, but no pics of the driver's side. Hope this helps. Ken
Its just a metal rod with bends on the ends. Should be fairly easy to find if you find an ad at rest in a field or junkyard.
Mike, It might be a bit hard to see since everything in the cab is rusty or muddy, but maybe these will help. These are from my '51. Harry
thank you ALL! The link to the manual, the pictures, the muddy parts... JUST what I need to see! Thanks again guys.
Oh, you should have seen the mouse poop that was in the cab corners, inside the doors, behind the dash, etc. The wasps decided that the headlamp buckets were heaven...
