I have an 85 K10 Longbed, I want it to grunt when I hit the gas. Why would GM put a 305 in this truck ?

It is a Chevy 383 SB from Summit Racing. I have found out that it will bolt right up. If you have install tips, or know of anything of the wall that I may run into, its certainly be appreciated.

On a 700R4 it is very important that the TV cable be connected to the carb using the correct adaptor and adjusted correctly. If that is not done correctly you WILL distroy the transmission within a few hundred miles.

My best SWAG would be fuel economy, but they offered many other engine/ transmission combos depending on what you intended on doing with the truck
