I need a legal copy of Windows XP along with the activation # , that's on the envelope the disc comes in .

This is for my Foster kids who ruined thier computer and I have to began over from scratch .

I know there's lots of unused copies lying 'round out there , consider helping me out here .

I do have a few $ to spend , insufficient to buy @ the Computer Store though .

One thing to consider is that most copies of XP in the wild were shipped with the OEM computer and are branded to that manufacturers PC's. An HP disk won't work on a Dell, etc. If you have a computer renaissance in your area, they may be able to help you with a 'used' copy. You can also find some (relatively) cheap copies on Ebay

    Good Luck!

    THANX ! .

I didn't know that about the branding , maybe that's why I had to call the Widows helpline in (where else ?) India when I set up my home computer . the nice lady asked me several times if I was sure I'd read the number on the envelope correctly , (I had) then she gave me a new activation # and it booted up and has been working fine ever since .

So , any one who has one of these (I know you do , I just need someone to good look) , I'm confident I can make a go of it .

Please help , my Foster boys are driving me crazy asking when will I have it running again .
