    Thanks Fella's

For the help over the last year. SWMBO finally got finished with the camera for important Facebook issues:eek:. So here goes, Ken-parts ID'ing, Nate-RottenChester advice et al, Chebbie-Assembly blog, Willard-crossovers, RattleCan paint specialist-Dash/Firewall, Evan-all round help, many others I can't think of at the moment:).

You GMC guys really motivated me, if those Ugly things can be made beautiful, then a chevy should be easy:p.

I've put a picture of the homemade split header that came on the truck. Nate talks about them and Volker wanted to see a picture.;)

You have a better shot of those stainless headers?
Very nice looking work you did there BTW.

Very nice and period correct---exactly the way one was done in the fifties before all the IFS running gear and electronic mumbo jumbo was the norm. If the judges aren't fuzzy cheeked rookies this one has to score high. For all that wonder what a stove pipe kit for a carb with an automatic choke looks like take a look at the cast iron split exhaust manifold (with the atrocious welding), it has one at the front.

    Evan,

Volker wanted to buy this but after I got it out it was so ugly that I told him I couldn't sell this because the work was so bad. It does however get the job done. I recently saw a 54' Corvette with split headers like this. I guess that's where the idea came from.

    Nice truck !

That's very impressive detail work there .

I bet you could grind those cobby welds a bit then have the entire thing jet - coated to hide it.....

As Evan mentions , the Choke Stove ups the value of this manifold a bit , some one with a single carby and auto - choke will kill for it .

    Outstanding!

...something this ugly only belongs on a GMC!

I know you guys were thinking this, so I went ahead and said it for you~ :D

Thanks for the pictures, Flashlight! That is one fine looking truck! What's even better, it seems to be parked right next to ANOTHER fine looking truck! (?)

    Thanks Wolf,

I thought about a Jimmy. But a guy down the road once put make-up and a pearl necklace on a pig!!! Know what? It was still a pig. Being from Kansas I figured you might appreciate my farm joke. Sorry, just a little good natured ribbing (pun). Help! I may need chebbie back-up.
