I thought wheel locks came out about the time of mag wheels ( I know some, including AD's) had spare tire locks but these off a 40 Pontiac are period items I'm almost sure. Each wheel has one on with the two drivers side ones being left hand thread. Everything on this car is absolutely the way it came from the factory so it is either a GM accessory or something like a Pep Boys item. Anyone else seen such a thing?

    Oh yeah!

Holy crap, Evan! Where did you find them? I remember them well! My granddad could not give them away in the sixty's! They had a keyed lug nut that you inserted into the lock and then you could use a 4-way or standard lug wrench to loosen them. They were not big selling items amongst the farmers in W. Tennessee, so my granddad discontinued them. I know he bought alot of stuff from Standard Automotive, so it's possible that they could have come from them, or, like you said, they could have been GM accessories. Way cool!:D

    Cool ! .

I love this old stuff .

Brand 'F' T Models were so popular and *so* easy to steal , a removable steering wheel was made and sold by the carload .

Of course , many youngsters simply went to the local junkyard and bought one off a junker with key for $2.00 and drove your car without permission....

GM used armored cabling between the ignition switch and coil for many years....

I had a '59 Volvo that had armoured cable between the ignition switch and coil as well.
