Back before we had a bunch of filters/dryers/dessicators, etc. I used to use this to get dry air for feeding the paint guns. It would still be a handy item for someone in Houston, along the Gulf Coast, or anywhere with sky high humidity. It is a coil of 3/8 copper tubing inside a 5 gallon bucket which is covered with ice while painting. The air goes in the bottom and there should also be a drain valve at the bottom which can be cracked open to bleed condensed water off. The hose to the gun connects to the top of the coil. The temperature drop in the air passing through the coil removes every bit of moisture but I learned the hard way to tie a "diaper" around the gun handle because the cold air passing through it causes moisture in the air to form water droplets on the cold metal surface and ALWAYS fall onto the fresh painted surface.
neat trick You could always use my ex missus Evan, shes competent at sucking every drop of blood from me so taking the moisture out of the air wont be a problem for her!
