Anyone have a pic of the cab to running boad seal on a 49 Chevy. I have the part but need a visual. Been a while since it was removed.

    Thanks

BC, remember that you have a metal strip that holds each seal on and is fastened by 9 (I think) metal screws that screw into the bottom of the cab.

Thanks for the pic but the one I am looking for screws to the bottom of the cab and holds a rubber strip that hangs down towards the running board.

    ? That's what you're looking at . . .

I'm pretty sure that is what I took photos of. The only other seal is glued around the edge of the door

Ken had it right. There is one that is held on to the lip below the windlacing your picture showed. The seal is L shaped with a metal strip and sheet metal screws to hold it to the very lowest part of the cab just above and inside of the running board. The longer leg of the seal touches the inside of the running board. If you are missing the strip you can likely get one from our host.

I have a 54 Model. Not sure if the seal is the same. I think this is the one you are refering too. It goes behind the runningboard under the cab. These pictures are of the drivers side. I had to remove the runningboards to install them. There is a long metal strip that goes on top of the L shaped piece of rubber. The screws go up through the rubber and the metal strip. I hope this helps. Kind of hard to get a picture of.

    Running Board Splash Seal

That's it ~ you can make these out of any old rubber , they prevent the running board from getting covered in whatever you just splashed through , like greasy mud in those Desert Junkyards I'm so fond of ~ I once stepped out of the cab and had my foot zoom out from under me , I fell bouncing out of the cab and whacked my lower back on the edge of the running board , not fun atall :( .
