    Hello all--

I'm back into the Chevy game with a really pretty 1980 1/2 ton Scottsdale with a 250 in her.

Has anyone done a stock AC retrofit? What do I need to look for?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

You basically need everything from a donor truck to convert to a/c:
    • Inner ducting/box
    • Outer Box/Evap case
    • A/C controls/wiring harness
    • A/C system (Evap, Dryer, Compressor, etc)
    • Compressor and Condenser Brackets
    • Heater Core
The biggest thing is that you need to patch the old heater core/duct holes on your firewall and cut new ones for the A/C and new heater core. I did this a few years ago when I swapped my engine out, so I had pretty easy access to the firewall (no fenders, hood, or engine in the way).
