Hey guys, I just thought I'd offer my opinion and tell you what I run. I have regular painted headers(paint them with VHT 1600 degree paint and it stays-no rust etc.)with a 2 1/4 inch exhaust and turbo mufflers. On a street driven truck with a small block I wouldn't put anything bigger than 2 1/2 inch pipes on, unless you're running high backpressure mufflers(unlike flowmasters, glasspacks or maybe even turbos-it depends). Without enough backpressure, exhuast valves can burn up and torque can suffer, which is not what you want if you dirve often. From my heads to the tailpipes(all the way out the back)the exhaust cost all of $320, including headers and hangers and mufflers and aluminized tubing. It sounds great, drives even better and didn't break the bank.
