With the deluxe package, did the back window and corner windows have the chrome lock strip from the factory, or is that just a popular upgrade? Many parts sellers don't carry the chrome strip. The black rubber is shure easier to work with, but the chrome shore do look good.

Russ, I looked in both the 29-54 Master Catalog and the 29-57 Master Catalog, and both only show rubber retainers for both the quarter windows and back window.

But, you know the saying here: You're paying the bills, do it how YOU want!

Yeah, just curious as to what it had from chevy. I know the chrome strip came on later vehicles, then probably became a popular retrofit. The all black is soooooo much easier to install.

Is there a trick to installing the chrome locking strip?

I understand the chrome locking strip is difficult to install, but has anyone found a trick to getting it to work in easier?

The truck shop sells a tool for about 8.00, works pretty well once you figure out how to use it....Big Tim

I have 2 of those tools, one modified, they both suck. The chrome is much stiffer and a pain to work with. You have to be delicate not to nick or mar it, and the plastic will peel if it is handled too much.
