I am looking for an original gas cap (painted same as truck) for a 1976 Chevy Silverado. I've checked every place I can think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
you will probably need to paint to match one. They are still sold in either chrome or flat black on some the center plastic black bar can be removed to paint it to match.
Original Typ Fuel Cap I found one on a '77 G2500 to-day , the plastic bar is broken but it'll work on my '76 as I need to smog it . It's made in Mexico (as are most GM & Ford parts now) and looks pretty good quality ~ the bar unscrews and the foil emissions labels peel off leaving a matte black surface you can paint to match before re - attaching the bar . Now I need to source one more and get another stock filler neck for my add one saddle tank so it'll pass SMOG . I bet your FLAPS has a Stant catalog behind the counter that lists the cap your want , good luck getting the pimple crusher behind the counter to READ anything though .
