best swaps

    What are the best year models to use as donor trucks for front suspenion and rear ends? what is the best engine tranny gear set up if use a 350.:)

    [updated:LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-02 AT 01:06 PM (CST)]For the front suspension the 72 to 77 will bolt right in. This will give you disc brakes, master cylinder and proportioning valve as well.
    For the rear look for the same years with coil springs, that too will bolt right in.

    The last part is really dependent on the kind of driving you do and what you expect from the truck. Loads of freeway travel and want good gas milage? A 700R4 with a 3:08 rear. Good to great off the line performance ? 700R4, TH350 with 3: 70 gears.

    It depends a lot on what you want and how you drive.

    i used an 80 front crossmember in mine and got six lug rotors from mcgaughys.
