Does anybody know if you need a lock up convertor for a 700R4? Any input will help

 

Yes if you want the over drive to work like factory.

I want to put a 700r4 in my 58 apache V8.
Can anyone give me some clues where to look for and any pitfalls to look out for.

lenght of the driveshaft
best year of transmission to use
with or without the crossmember
best rear axle ratio.
and also which chevy van steeringcolumn is best for this truck.
If you know a build of this sort
Please let me know

Had an accident and lost the power to drive the standard apache
