Here it is, 55' Chevy Sedan Blue Flame 235 with Borg Warner OD unit. I hope my 216 doesn't give up anytime soon because it will be hard to find another one like this. However, SWMBO's ultimatum for equal space in MY garage or no extra favors:eek: in the forseeable future (eternity) takes precedence.

Besides I haven't told her about the 82' Grand Wagoneer "woody" Limited I found for US!:D

    Build a shed!

Flashlight, build a shed for the motor and build it twice the size of motor. Then you can keep the motor and SWMBO can have the second half for herself.;)

BTW, is that a combo generator/power steering pump under the staircase in the 3rd picture? If it works, that's valuable trading fodder!

    Wowsers !

I don't get it ~ why can't you turn it 90° and slide it under the stairs ? it's not like she's gonna park a car there .

Iff'n my '49 had a Three On The Tree , I'd be on this like white on rice ! :p

Now we're going to have to listen to you whine & b*tch for the rest of your life about how that one got away....

    Thanks Nate,

I've got to have a few stories about the "one I gave away for next to nothing" for when I get to be a really old codger on this site....like some un-named contributors!! Bahahaha!! Thanks Ken, I will get the Generator/Power steering unit off of the sale.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but SWMBO ain't buying into it at all. I did like the motor shed idea.

DAMN, where were you at the beginning of the year, before I rebuilt the 235 for the 53????? I now may be rebuilding the trans, or at least replacing the bearings. Coulda used the whole thing in one piece! I'm still working on it through a few people.

    Ones That Got Away

    Yeah , I've had a few .

I still miss my 1954 Pontiac Super Chief Coupe , factory leather two tone diamond tuck seats to match the two tone paint , skirts & visor , factory AC , dual Hydromatic drive , radio that played *perfect* after I fixed it , power windows , steering & brakes , even the Chief's head on the hood ornament lit up when the lights were on ~ one owner , so on and so forth ~ cost ? a whopping $150  .

I drove the hell out of it for a while before letting my buddy have it 1/2 way through a valve job , I sold it for $50 .

I could go on like this for a few hours but back then they were just ' old cars ' and few other than I , cared .

I'm betting that 235 and the OD tranny came out of a 55 business coupe. That was my first car, bought it in 1966 for the huge sum of 159.95 Whoaaaaaaaa

Yes, its still here....SWMBO will help load it. She wants it gone. She's putting a "For Sale" sign on my 53' for the Car show this weekend.
