Someone told me that the 230 engine for a 1963 C10 is different than a 230 for a car. Is this true? I know the color was different but is there anything else, such as mount locations, etc? Thanks!

The valve cover has the oil fill is close to the fan on a truck on a car its in the center all of the mounts should bolt right up . I think it changes when you get into larger trucks the one I had built came from a 62 belair good luck these pop up on craigs list from time to time 150.00 and up usually with a 2 speed power glide .:)

There is a place I am possibly going to have rebuild a 230 for me. They said the other thing that is different is the oil dipstick can be locted in three different places (front, center or rear). Mine is a center mount. I had never heard of this before. Why did they make them with the dipsticks in different places?
