need small part

    Hi guys i am in need of a small simple part for my 1950 half ton chev. pickup i probably could make but it is ribbed so that it gripps the metal and it is behind the striker plate its a small piece of metal about 1inch long and a quater inch wide that actually slides into the body behind the striker plate the screws on the striker plate tighten into this part there are two behind each striker plate and one i have is striped so if any body has one i would be happy to pay for and pay postage I only need one My email address is cgarcia77@socal.rr.com heres a picture of it in the vice thanks for reveiwing

    What are the hole center and overall dimensions.I have a few left over that i didn't need on my 57. If they are the same your welcome to them.

    demensions

    Thanks bobby and brit Im not sure if the 57 would be the same but heres the demensions the best i know how 1- 3/8 long 1/4 inch thick 5/8 wide the hole is 1/4 inch in from the edge centered.

    Overall dimension of the 57 door latch shim is narrower than what your looking for.It was worth a try.Sorry

    Well thanks for taking the time bobby and checking and I learned somthing that there called shims thank you.

    I believe I just cut that spot out of my 52 and should still have it somewhere. I will look tomorrow for you. I'll let you know.

    Hi chriss its a small shim thats slides in behing the striker plate If you have one that would be great just put it in an envalope and ship it to me let me know what I owe you and ill let you know my address etc. thanks
