does anyone out there have an instrumnent panel (in working condition)for a 64-66? Or maybe know where I can get one? Mine has been replaced with an earlier model and I would like to put the origianl style back in it. Had 2 of them cornered on Ebay but they were grabbed within seconds of auction end out from under me. I hate it when that happens.

Sorry Elvis, I don't have one. Just a tip on E-Baying.

Bid the amount you would pay "Tops" first off. Then forget it.

Take the gauge panel. These are $40 items at a swap meet, so bid $40 at the start of the auction and let the proxy process do the bidding for you. I have seen utterly ridiculous prices paid on e-bay probably because people get caught up in the bidding and stop using common sense. Example; stainless windshield trim for a 64-66 truck that is a $30-$40 item went for well over $200. There is a guy out there now that has chrome bumpers with a starting bid of $200. (!)

Some things that fall into the rare catagory could be worth paying more than their real worth, guage clusters come up on e-bay all the time though. I would say the idiot light panels go for $25 tops and the true gauge panels for $75 tops. So the next time you see one, bid $75 and if someone outbids you it will be THEM paying too much, not you.

    Let the buyer beware. ;)

I used to have a '62 and it looks like that one. Speedometer, fuel gauge, H2O temp idiot light. I can send you a picture if you would like. Everything seems to work fine. Email me if you are interested.

You really shouldn't post your e-mail on the internet. Spammers have bots that search the internet for emails posted into forums and then put them on their spam list.

If you want to post your e-mail address write it out like this:

    bicyclechild at aol dot com

or, if you want it to still be clickable do it like this:

    bicyclechildnospam@aol.com

make sure to let the person know to remove the nospam part before they send their message.
