I thought I had enough room between engine and rad to keep the mechanical fan. However with air and the serpentine belt system the blade is about a half inch too close. Someone recommended a Taurus 2 speed fan and I bought one on Ebay. I wanted to use it as a pull but when fitting it I find it won't fit between the rad and motor.
Does anyone know of a thin fan that might fit?

Have you considered mounting it as a pusher fan? I use one on my 53 and it works great. Still have the water pump mounted fan but the electric is there as a backup.

I put a pusher in mine as well due to lack of clearance. I don't have any pictures handy, but it fit easily between the diagonal braces and the rad frame. I had to weld little tabs to the rad frame to bolt it to.
