Hi Everyone, I need help with the Door Glass on my 1947 Pickup. The door glass is very sloppy and rattles when the glass is lowered to about the midpoint and below. I installed new glass runs which helped at the top but did not resolve the sloppy glass movement in the mid to lower positions. The rear glass run channel is tight however I can not see how the front glass run channel is secured to the inside of the door. Using a mirror it looks like part of the lower attachment is missing. Does anyone have an illustration of the inside of the door showing how the glass run channels are held in place? Thanks, Ron' 47
I know that the rear locator in my door broke loose from the mount and I had a similar problem. It looked like it was screwed down, but was actually flopping.
Thanks M.T.- Great photo Anyone figure out how to attach the replacement felt track on the lower ends like the original detailed in this photo?
Door Glass Problems WOW, what a great photo. Thank you so much for the reply and the photo. It looks like the front lower channel is loose on my truck. Now that I know what is suppose to look like, I can check mine and find out what is wrong. Again, thanks a million Ron's 47
That is the ultimate cut away diagram! Awesome DZ! That takes "cut away" to a new level! What else do you have? Sawing a 216 babbitt pounder in half Thanks for posting that! Ken
Hey DeadZoneTruckin, again thanks for the picture of the cut away door it sure helps. I have found the problem and it's not good. The front "channel bracket" which holds the felt glass run is missing inside my door. I can see the lower attachment point and the location where the channel was apparently spot welded to the stand-off bracket. Do you happen to have one of these brackets from an old door which I can purchase from you or do you know where I can purchase one? Thanks again for all your help. Ron
Believe it or not.... the front track for the 47-50 doors is the same as the rear tracks.... just trim a little & they fit right in PM us for details if you need a good used one.
