Is there something magical about the factory radio and hubcaps for a 1963 half-ton pickup truck? I realize the hubcaps are a limited few years (1960 to 1963 or something like that) and that others will fit.

But it seems they all sell for a lot on eBay. There's a set there now for $100, which is about what a reproduction or good old set cost for the 1949 pickup I have.

The 1963 truck now has a barely working Kraco or something like that, and the hubcaps are 1980s or late 1970s ones. I may go to baby moon or Chevy baby moon. Maybe someday some more custom wheels. You know that 230 six-banger is quite a motor but I keep wanting to shift to fourth on straight and level roads.

Rick Wagner, 1963 long-bed fleetside, blue with primer and rust, in the body shop since Clinton's first term, not much progress.
