just picked up me new crate engine. 350 / 290 hp jut have to wait for some hardware to put it in the truck.
I got it from GM. go on the web site www.gmperformanceparts.com go to shop and then to crate engines .I picked the 350/290 hp de luxe .four bolt , It comes with three year warranty or 160000 km . On the web site you can see all the dealer pricing to.check it out,For me it was alot cheaper to buy this engine than buildt me own .
Right on Johan! I would have to agree, 3 yrs ago I built my own mill from an old 350 4-bolt block I had laying around, it was a great experience (my first build) but it was also pretty expensive. my next will be a factory LS motor. Factory warranty on a 1965!!!! cant beat that.
installled me crate engine and rollpan + tailgate Installed me crate engine ,I bought the tubelar motor mount from cpp .they didnt work for me the headers where running right in to them. had to go back to the orignal mounts. still waiting for me pulley to show up. I have to wire the engine yet ,maby in the next couple of weeks i will get that done. also bought a cross flow aluminum radiator for it, have to change the top bracket for it or raise the bottom brackets.
going to run a 700r4 tranny. I bought those headers of ebay don't know the brand.only payed $170 for them.
its running I was of for the holidays and found time to spend on the truck.I got it wired up and test the wiring, after that it was time to start the engine for the first time . it fired right up and is running good. Still can,t drive it have to wait for the lokar kit to show up to connect the tranny tv cable and throtlle cable.
Hello, I am just learning all this, but I am close to ready for my engine and tranny swap. I have a 63 c-10 that had the 250 I-6, 3sp tranny. I have bought a 350sb and a 700r4. I noticed that yall have a similar setup and thought I would take this chance to ask the dumb question... will I need to change motor and trans mounts for this swap? And will the drive shaft need to be cut?
gear shift removel help trying to post here and having trouble, sorry. how do you take the gear shifter out of the top of my tranny, its a 1964 v6 305 4 speed on the floor and I need to take just the shifter arm off the top right from inside the truck. im going to have some custom work done to the shifter at a welding shop, and i think you guys will like this new idea
