    You know i live in Germany and try to work on my truck. After all swaps i would like swap the old crashbox with a SM420 with open shaft but i cant find a good tranny in germay for a good price. My last offer said about $900 for a good used SM465. Grrr to expensive. Could anyone help me with this tranny. I will rebuild this and have a way to pick up and ship to Germany. Please let me know if you can help me

    We have a nice selection of original 4 speeds.

    If you have a way to get a trans. picked up & shipped.... take your pick..

    DZT, in pic #3, lower left corner, I see you have a front u-joint/yoke assembly hanging out of the torque tube. How much do you let those go for? Just the u-joint/yoke, don't need the shaft or ball tube.

    The part you are refering to is the front section of a 3/4 ton truck driveline.

    We Will need to know the tonnage of your truck & the spline count you need on both ends of the joint to even begin tell if we have the correct part for your application.

    I have a '52 Chevy 3/4 ton, the transmission side of the assembly is a 10 spline with the speedometer drive gear & the shaft side is 10 splines as well. I can tell by the picture that that is the correct part, all the ones I've looked at have been in pretty bad shape (badly worn u-joints) or not complete.

    SM420 Tranny

    Volker ;

    Do you have anything like ' craigslist ' over there ? just for grins , I put SM420 into it and had lots of hits , this robust tranny is still very popular and sadly , many good ones get scrapped as there's still simply too many in the larger trucks with V-8's that are being junked daily .

    Jeep clubs like them too and often have good connections .

    I'm sure Joe will hook you up but the shipping of this heavy beast is the hard nut to crack .

    @Joe

    Have you a possibility to send this tranny inside the US or must be picked up by you?
    I have a oversea container near NYC or in Florida and the owner ships parts to germany if the container is full.

    Could you give me a PM with conditions and price??

    The 4 sp is rare as rockin horse sh* te over this side of the pond, trouble is you used to see them in the ads years ago when guys started importing them but after seeing ads for stripped out running gear not getting bought people just dumped everything when the got it of the trucks

    I have three rebuildable/servicable SM420's and a few SM465's that are servicable units as well. one of the 465's is out of a cab over or cab forward type of truck for its lid dosnt have a shift tower for a shifter but uses linkage and one of the other 465's has a colmen transfer case attatched to it. if any one is intrested in any of them, let me know! I'll even crate them for shipping if need be and drop it off at a nearby truck freight terminal to help you get it to where you want it to go! Oh and I have the back cover, yoke and hand brake assembly for an SM420 aswell and the rear main shaft and gear (all came off and out of the 420 I put in my jeep).

    In southern California
