What do you guys think about these?
I replaced the stock hood hinges with hydraulic ones from a '97 Taurus. They work great!

I like it! Nice job. Did you keep the original upper hood hinges and replace the lower spring units with the hydraulic dampeners? Please provide close-up pics from the side with flash showing hook-up. Thanks.

    Sweet !

For us poor / dumb / farmer / worker bee types ., just remember to always lube your original hinge pivot points often so they won't wear out or get worse that they are now...

Very neat. What is in the fabricated box behind the hood latch?

Andy, here is a shot of the upper mount. I used a couple of waterpump studs to align it with the bottom mount. There is a clip the holds the bolt in place that was supplied with the support. I just drilled a hole in the fender to secure the bottom.

Nate, glad to see you're doing better. I was having some issues with the hood alignment. After I installed these the fit was nearly perfect. The best part about it was that they didn't cost me anything. I took them off my son's car which I was going to sell for parts! I may need to see if I can use some other parts!!

Evan, I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. Thats just the stock plate.

I was going to say I thought you were thinking of your budget...:D

Great idea! Do you have a shot from the side with the hood open that shows how far forward the lower connection is?
