The Fenton cast iron headers have to ports where you can connect tubes to the fenton dual intake . They are ment to give a pre-heating effect to the dual intake that apparrently is needed. I would like to know what thread do they use inside the header or tube connection flare ?

    Thanks Martinius.

I'm not positive, but from the look of the picture it is 1/4 NPT. Good luck!

Martinius, I don't remember the exact size but I know I got my hardware for this post and the previous one you had at Home Depot in the plumbing section. I don't recall any of it being special. I bought some brass tubing, flared it and used a tube bender to make up some piece to go between the exhaust and intake manifold. There were some good pictures on a previous post that I used for guidance. Dave

Martinius, something you might want to consider for your climate is water heat to the intake. I wound up putting it on mine because I couldn't get enough heat from the exhaust. My exhaust headers are thin pipes though , not cast like the Fentons. Water heat smoothed it right out...for this climate here.

Probably pipe threads for those fittings.

    Good luck, Bob

The water heat is what Tom recommends, I went the other way as I didn't want to have to route water hoses every where. Water heat if you read is suppose to be more controlled heat as it is coming from the thermostat. A couple of articles around on it, go to Toms website. Dave

Hey , how your doing ? Awsome this engine setup.

I called Tom Langdon a couple of days ago and ordered the excact same carbs and linkage and intake/exhaust setup as you have mounted. Did you also mounted the flat heatplate between your setup , where on the left or right side ? I can see that your red truck have dual exhaust pipes. Can you give me an vendor adres where i could buy these ? Maybe i only need one as i allready have one in use now.
I am curious about the linkage connection between the carbs and the pedal trotle arm ? I would like you to send me some pics that shows how you made the connection.

Martinius, Sorry I have not responded but have out of touch with the internet for some time. To answer your questions I would refer you to search this forum as one of the guys here has a whole set of pictures to follow on the dual carb set up that I installed. I also found his pictures when searching google on the 235 engine. He is good and knew what he was doing as opposed to me. With regard to the throttle linkage I bent at least three different rods before I got one to work to my liking. It isn't perferct but works fairly well. On the heat plate from the manifold to the exhaust I believe I did left to right and right to left in order to get the copper tube to bend right. To do it left to left and right to right was too tight of a bend. The truck came with the dual exhaust and it looks like it was customize because each side has a cut out that is temporarly blocked before the headers. Hope this helps. Dave
