Hi Martinius. I need to replace mine as well. I just went to the local parts store and requested the appropriate thread size and length. They have them in stock. Nothing special about them as far as I know. Haven't looked for the brass nuts yet though...

    Flange bolts and nuts

Thanks for your reply Bilbo. Its only the case that i am living in a metric system country(Norway) and they are therefore very hard to get here. But maybe i`ll can buy them this summer when i am entering the US. Is it the NAPA store you are referring to or another parts-store?

    :)Martinius.

    Look Up

Dorman Industries , they make all manner of wierd hardware and kits of exhaust studs with the special long brass nuts even .

I ordered up a set for my '76 GMC's 292 recently when I was replacing the cracked exhaust manifold .

They have a nice catalog , it might take you some time to find it OnLine of have them mail you one .

IIRC , 235's had coarse threads on the manifold end and fine threads on the collar end when they were new....

one question what you mean: The studs to screw the exhaust to the engine?

I had the same problem but my mechanic gone to a metal worker and gave him the measurement (inch). He grabbed in a box and took the right size cut off the rigth length.
Sounds very easy and i think you have a good machine shop nearby and they have this material or can order it.

Yep, Dorman is the brand they carry at my local parts store. The manifold end was originally 3/8" x 16 NC, and the flange end is 3/8" x 24 NF. They're less than $5 for a pair, I think. I bought a pair of 3/8, and 7/16", just in case I have to tap the manifold a size up. (My truck is 250 miles away, so I sometimes make an alternate plan). If you want, I'll pick up a pair and ship them to you, as I'm retired and have some time available. Let me know. :)

Oreilly Auto Parts PN 675-003 for 3/8x2" long, $.59ea. PN 675-010 for 7/16x2 1/4" long, $.99ea. Haven't yet found the proper nuts online, probably have better luck if I go to the store.

    KEEP Us Posted

As I'm pretty sure I ran across a pair of new ones with the special long brass nuts yesterday , I'll ship them to you if you need them still , I'd hate to throw them in the trash....

They were sitting in an old Mercedes oil pan full of misc. hardware & got full of water so they look nasty but I bought them recently to repair my '76 Jimmy's 292 exhaust manifold , I had to buy the big kit and had extras , they're new & un used & will clean right up .
