I bought a new pair of identicall Carter/Weber carbs wich i am going to install on my Fenton Dual setup. They have both an el. choke and i wonder how i must wire them to the ignition unit?
Someone has a diagram or can tell me how to connect these ?

    Thanks Martinius.

Attach pics carb setup from Tom Langdon.

I connected my electric choke to the "sense" wire of my 3 wire GM alternator because it was only a few inches away. Any "hot when the key is on" circuit will do for powering the electric chokes.

    Sense wire ?

    Hi Bill

You mentioned the sence wire.Wich of the 3 in color is the sence wire ?
Will the carbchoke maintain to get 12 v. all the time or does the power cuts when the choke gets activated ?

    Martinius.

I did my own wiring of the alternator, so colors would not likely be the same as yours. Looking from the rear (not the pulley side) of the alternator, and with the two wire plug pointing up, the sense wire is rightmost of the two wires.

I don't know if the electric choke cuts its own power after it activates, but if I had to bet I'd bet that it does not. I do know that if you remove power from the choke while the engine is running it will eventually re-apply the choke.

    Electric choke

Any hot wire (when the key is on) will work. The choke will stay open as long as there is current through it once it is warmed up.

I picked up my voltage at the ignition resistor right before the distrubutor on the 12 volt side. Seems to work OK, Dave

Run a fused wire from the ACC terminal of your ignition switch to your choke for the right way, so if it blows it won't cut coil power. Or, the easy way is to run a wire from your coil wire.
