I just got the frame powder coated and I was wondering what color the bolts that hold the all the parts together would be?
Fastener Finish IIRC , they were Camium plated but that doesn't last so long.... Parkerizing lasts longer IIRC .
Submersion in an iron phosphate solution and heating to about 200F until the bubbles stop. Many gun people prefer it over bluing though they usually use something like zinc phosphate to get a lighter color. Camshafts are Parkerized to help retain oil during the break in period. Look in your yellow pages under "metal treatment" and they either do it or can give you someone that does. I keep forgetting that online is probably a better place to look.
Thank you for the replies. I just started to receive my shipment from classic trucks for the front end. Now I get to start putting the truck back to original as possible. I have to regret that I did not follow the suggestions on taking pictures. Boy did I screw up lol. Hopefully I can receive the forgiveness of the board and get some help when needed.
Look in my "how to assemble an AD" post, I tried to get as many pictures as possible. Also a copy of the factory assembly manual is essential to see exactly how Chevy did it.
