    Can any one tell me the differenct in the th200r4 and the th700r4.

    do a ggogle search on the 'net. quite a few differences...ratios/trans spline/oil pan shape/rear mount, etc. etc. etc.

    the 700r4s only came behind chevy v8s and v6s and wont bolt to any thing else.the 200r4s mostly came behind buick,olds,and pontiac engines.not all 200r4s will bolt to a chevy,only the dualbolt pattern ones.the 700r4s are stronger but the 200r4s can be modified for lots of power.

    Well this kid was going to trade me and overdrive auto for my granny low 4 speed but his mother had just sold the auto and got another truck with the tranny they wanted.

    The 700r4's come in two sizes L60 and L80. The L80 being the stronger of the two. Also there are kits available to convert an L80 into a six speed .
