    If it has to be...

    Nate,

you can give me some details about your ride and i could promote it at some places here.
But with new import laws here, i heard of, it became more difficult for private parties, to import vintage stuff.

Some guys were talking about this on another forum, donĀ“t know, if true or not:confused:
On the other hand, you might not like the idea, of your loved one leaving your country, with you left behind...

Anyway, you decide, how you do it.

    What It Is ;

    1949 Chevrolet 3100 series pickup truck .

Mostly stock , 4 speed manual transmission Muncie SM420 , enclosed
    " Torque Tube " driveshaft .

    1957 235 C.I. I6 engine , runs well , no smoke / knocks etc.

12 volts , internally regulated Delcotron alternator .

Recent custom built 4 row heavy sduty radiator with original tanks .

    Electric fan & relay .

White paint , NO RUST HOLES ~ this is an original California truck , built in the Oakland , Ca. plant .

N.O.S. doorlatches on both doors , one key works doors & glovebox lock . window lifts work fine having been removed & cleaned , greased etc. .

Runs & drives well , the U-Joint groans a bit and should be inspected before undertaking a long tour .

New front springs a few years back .

Turn signals added , two taillights .

Rebuilt vacuum wipers work fine .

    I'm sure there's more , I gotta go to lunch now .

When I was a kid,I had a 51 Chevy sedan with a powerglide. Too weird how it only had one speed if you took off in drive. I always shifted to low for a "quick" takeoff LOL. Needless to say it got a stick shift conversion, then later to a 265 with a four speed and open driveline as soon as i saved up the cash.:D
Too bad the gang doesn't live closer to you. We'd have that thing changed out for you in a wink.

    ! Yes !

I've had this thought in my head for many a year ~ before ' Memory Lane ' junkyard folded it's tent and moved to tiny digs , they had TWO Chevrolet AD's with 235's & the wonderful Hydromatic slushbox , the trucks were completely stripped except for the engine block and tranny , rear ends and all throttle linkages complete .....

I really wanted to buy them both and do a rebuild / transplant but , no where to store them and worse , they'd rather crush for .75 / pound SCRAP VALUE than ever sell anything old affordably so off they both went to the crusher :(

O.K. now , you guys are making me feel *so* guity , let's see how this clutch job on my '76 Jimmy goes , if I can get it down without getting maimed or killed , maybe I'll bring my AD home and begin tinkering on it , get it sorted out right .

We'll see I've not gotten the SM465 out of the GMC yet , I'm farily askeert it'll slip off the trolly jack and land on me to - day :( .

    Google it !

No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour it was written up in CAR & DRIVER a few years back , there's lots of sites dedicated to it too .

The assholes in new Porsches ruined it so now there's a replacement run called " The Bride Of The Ride That Cannot Be Mentioned ", ~ two days , 1,000 miles , NO FREEWAYS , NO CHARGE . just bring your old car and a good attitude ! :D .

We'll meet up at the COCO's Restarunt on Sunland Blvd. in Sunland , just off the I-210 freeway , Sunday next @ 07:00 , roll out @ 08:00 sharp ~ don't be late , do come to see us off and look at the weird cars .

    Parting ways....

I know the feeling as I have a delima myself with to many "Projects". Sometimes there is just not enough time and money to complete our projects (toys). The kiss of death has come for my 1954 Chevy 3100 as there is simply no time or money for me to see it thru. I have a 1950 GMC that I am trying to finish and am out of money! As it is ok to just sit there in a covered garage, everything else gets pushed farther and farther back, but lets be real about this,we just can't do everthing! We blew up my Ski Doo snowmobile and was forced to replace that motor,it's never ending!!!!! https://talk.classicparts.com/images/smilies/mad.gifPondering my next move as the 54" just has to go! https://talk.classicparts.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
