Engine I.D.

    Where will I find the engine # on my 1964 Six cylinder so I can determine the engine size.

    I'm not sure about the location of the casting numbers. The service manual has a picture of each motor. The 292 CI has an oil filter that mounts vertically, the 230 oil filter mounts at an angle. Hope that helps.

    There is a pad on the right side of the block behind the distributor
    that will have a series of #'s and letters stamped on it. If you
    reply with what you find, I (and others here) will decode it for you.
