May 2-4, 2008 was the 21st Arizona Route 66 fun run. The wife & I did this run this year with some friends in their 1974 Chevy Nova.
There were over 900 cars registered in the show and over 100 tag-alongs. You name it, it was there. We started in Seligman, Az., went to Kingman the first day. Stayed the night there and headed off to Topock/Golden Shores, Az. down by Needles Ca. the next day for the awards ceremony. We stopped at every little town on the 66 route. Shopped at every gift shop. There were hot rodders, classics, exotics, motorcycles, horseless carriages, muscle cars, and much much more, everywhere we stopped. We were in car heaven. We put on 500 miles of cruising on this trip. A 3 day rolling car show is something you need to experience on the Mother Road of America. We got our kicks on Route 66.

This was a mouse pad that we got of our truck on Rt 66. I also have a matching shirt.

    What Fun!

That does look like a GREAT way to spend three days! 66 is close by to where I live, and when I get my ride rolling, I will roll down what's near by.
    Thanks for posting the pictures!
    (Great looking mouse pad, too!)

My mother in law made a Poodle skirt for our Daughter. She wore it on the Rt 66 fun run. Here is a picture of her at a show we were in the weekend after RT66 fun run.

There were two people that shipped their vehicles from England to do this run. There was another couple that flew in from Germany to do this run.

A few years ago there was a couple that flew here from another country and bought a cadilliac in Chicago and drove Route 66 all the way. They timed it to be on this run. Then in California they sold the Caddy and flew home.

The Arizona Route 66 fun run is the first weekend in May every year. May 4, 5 & 6, 2012. Add www.azrt66.com to your favorites

    AS for the trailer:

This 1961 NORTH came into the family when my wife's grandparents were traveling with thier old trailer. In January of 1961 while on vacation with their old trailer they saw this brand new travel trailer and traded in their old one.

They transfered all their camping gear into this new trailerand continued on their winter vacation. Christy's parents got it from Grandma Dot and used it for years for hunting/camping and even several trips to Mexico. This trailer has seen Canada, Mexico and both coasts of the USA. Christy & I got it in the late 90's. We have used it for camping & hunting. Then last year 2010 I got a hair braned idea to hook it up to out 1950 Chevy. Since the truck is a fat fendered rat rod it was named "The Fat Rat" and the trailer is now named "The Rat's Nest"

There are two guys from England that fly to Chicago Ill and rent a car. They cruise Route 66 every year and tie it in with the Fun Run in Arizona. There is also a couple from Germany that come every year.

It would be my pleasure. There is something about cruising the mother road in a classic that just slows down time. I would love to see this run get back up in the 1,000 plus cars again. I've seen it as low as 600 and as high as 1200 cars.
