Here may be a bit of hope for ones with orphan or butt ugly projects. It is a 65 Barracuda, the one with the huge back glass. It had no floor or bottom 10 inches of the sides due to rust worms. Worse, no repop stuff available so we had to hand form all the panels. It shows that if you bang the metal fairly straight and smear some shiny paint even this duckling is at least presentable. I still don't look at it too closely right after a meal though.
By gum, that's really not a bad looking outfit!!! Sure looks like a respectable job to me, course that's lookin' at it from several miles away...
Re:Ugly coilover, you do know that everything but the roofline is Valiant? There should be a few of those back in the holler somewhere.
Okay~ Raise your hand if you thought this thread had something to do with a GMC... Sorry, Charles, I beat you to it!
Well I'm glad you thought the same thing. I was just working on the 9N and figured some G owner would fess up.
Nice I actually like these early ones , especially when properly equipped with the big Slant Six engine , slush box and wagon torsion bars & brakes.... I didn't know the were cobbled up out of Valiant parts , even the backlight ? that's very interesting and clever .
Everything but the roofline/back window. That's at least a 300.00 piece of glass even from a scrapyard!
OK guys, I've been out of pocket for a week, but I'm sure this was a test directed at me. I am going to give the standard answer here. Coilover, how could you possibly call this an ugly project? Paint the bad boy gold and black, slap a freakin' hemi under the back glass, ask Hurst if they still sponser "Hemi under Glass", put a set of wheelie bars under it and let's do a wheel stand for 1320 ft! And for future reference, if you want to call something ugly, I'll send you some pictures of mom and dad's '59 Chevy station wagon, which dad bought new and still gives me nightmares!
