Hello everyone, I am a newbie. I just finished (almost) a 63 Chevy 409 BelAir, and now my wife wants a truck.
I am looking at a good friends 57 short wheel base step side. 6 Cyl 3 speed, Motorola (AM) added on radio, almost never left a farm in Tenessee, never in a wreck, etc. and yes a one owner. All the glass is good, rust over the headlights. His Mom just parked it one day and has not needed it since.
Spent it's life under a metal shed on that farm. What should I offer him?

I just pick up mine for $500. The story is similar execpt it has had the engin swapped for a 1966 327 with camel hump heads. It never hurts to start low.

Well thats hard to say. I got my 1 owner for a $1. Did not run or anything. And I have seen others pay $1000 for a truck in worse shape. How bad dose he want it gone is the question.

    New as well

Wow, i'm feeling like i got taken. I just purchased mine for 1,500, and have to pay another 450 to get it transported home. Not running, with a 235 in line 6. No damage, well mostly. But, I got it and don't care now what i paid. Actually still waiting for the transport.
Mine is a 55' SWB SS, 2nd series.

    Good Deal !

As the '55s 2nd Series are the best of the Task Force years IMO .

Not to worry , the prices are always all over the map .

Do a full tune - up and make run , grease & adjust everything on the truck (there's a LOT) and then drive it , you'll love it .
