I'll try to get you a pic of after the exhausts were installed, but I can 'splain it a bit. Used block hugger headers, which dump out right about even with the centerline of the frame channels. I ran 3" pipes from the collectors back about 2', then dropped down to clear under the transmission cross mount, reduced to 2-1/2", and entered into a straight-through glasspack type s/s flowmaster 18" muffler. Then dropped just a bit more and turned 90 degrees and exited under the running boards...

Will try to get a pic for you to see...

Ron, What engine are you running. I thought it was an inline 6.

I just put dual 32" inch glass packs with a crossover per Willard's suggestion. The glass packs were Nate's suggestion, it sounds mature but has a nice rumble you can talk over. Sounds more like I'm running a 350 then a 235. I did not like the straight exhaust without mufflers too loud and course.

    Ron,

i tried with my 235, Fenton Headers goes to single outlet (2.5") a glass pack but it was toooo loud. After that i took a Muffler named Raptor from FlowTech. With ntaht i'm very happy. The sound is deeper than with the glass pack and not too loud for the policeman:D

I'll try to post some picks of my setup. I have the fenton headers on a 235 with some Magnaflows, didn't want to loud of a glass pack sound. It has a beautiful sound. Quite at idle, screams on fast acceleration.

    low rummble

Im looking for a low rumble. What i have is a 235 and one pipe with a stock type muffler under the bed the muffler is about 8 to 10 inches around and 20 inches long the pipe is 2-1/2 going out just behind the rear tire driver side I beleive thats what was stock, hopefully i can use the pipe and muffler with some slight modifications so that being said do you think that if i match the same pipe and muffler on the other side or straight out the back will that do what im looking for. I know once its done thats it not enless i want to pay more and change it thats what iam trying to avoid thanks for any input.

    Split Exhaust

If you split the exhaust like with Fentons , you'll get that nasty blatting sound .

Adding a cross over will reduce it sharply as will mounting the miffler as far back as possible .

of course, the further back the muffler is , the shorter it's life will be unless you jet coat the entire exhaust system , headers included , to maintain the heat flowing through it as condensation os what causes mufflers to rust out .

The crossover will also increase off idle and especially mid range RPM power and throttle response .

Splitting the exhaust is only for race cars and those who like excessive noise .

I did just that, but like Martinius I have the saginaw and power brake booster. So the area that both pipes needed to pass through was too close in tolerances. The answer was to take the forward exhaust manifold pipes under the oil pan then out the back. My dual generic glass packs was exactly the sound you are asking for. Maybe Martinius had only one glass pack and it was too loud, but two are just right. Plus....they are cheap!! I have a crossover as well.
