Got my 55 2nd series this week. Bought it after only seeing 4 pics of it on ebay. Prepared for the worst, but not too disappointed with it. You guys are gonna be seeing alot from me, as I've tinkered all my life, but never taken on anything as serious as this. Got books to go by, and been adding sites to my favs for a couple of weeks, but could use some advice on the best places to find what I need. The bottom corners of the cab need replacing (typical, right?). Need to replace the front right fender, and the back left fender. The engine (235) turns over, but whether or not it runs is unknown. Don't care though. Gonna do a total re-build. Plan on taking it down to the frame, and in no hurry, although I'm 53 years old and would love to see it finished before I'm dead. I'll post some pics soon, before I have it in a million pieces.

    Thanks AZ
Yeah, the fender emblem is a one piece, cept for the one that's broken in to two pieces. It's all there, cept the seat and gas tank, best I can tell. The hood emblem is intact, but slightly corroded. Not sure if it'll be cheaper to have it re-chromed, and try my hand at painting, or just get a new one. I think I'm going to try it myself, since the only cost will be the chrome and if I can't paint it good enough, then at least I tried. I've got the two on Classic Parts to use as a guide. Thanks for the well wishes, and I'll keep posting pics as it progresses.

    Well New Guy

As I see it you got two main things working for you!
    a) lookd like you got a truck and b) looks like you got a garage? So your on your way.

This is a good forum for posting questions and or comments. My advice is keep track of everything, enjoy the time spent with it and teach others of what you are doing. Good luck, and remember safety first!

Is The Right Front Fender That Far Gone That It Needs To Be Replaced?
Looks Like It Could Be Pulled Out,Might Check With Local Body Shop!
Just A Suggestion,If It Were Me I Would Pull It Off and Try Working Out the Dent To Try
And Save It! From The Picture It Looks Like It Could Be Saved!
How Is The Lower Rear, Is It Rusted Out?

The issue with the front fender right behind the headlight at the angled bend (sorry, I don't know all the lengo yet), it is smashed in at the bend.
I have friends with a body shop, so maybe I'll ask them. Thier work is superior. I do want to avoid as much bondo as possible though. The only fender rust is on the left rear. At the front right above the running board, it is rusted through. Funny thing though, the running boards (both) are pristine. Surface rust, but that's it.
